Always Patsy Cline Rehearsals Underway

We have begun rehearsing for Wayside Theatre’s first show of the season, Always Patsy Cline. The show stars Sara Story as Patsy and Thomasin Savaiano as Patsy’s friend Louise.

I’m in the band for the show, and if our first music rehearsals are any indication we are going to be a force to be reckoned with! Our pre-rehearsal jam session sounded like we’ve been playing together for years!

I’ll be playing fiddle and rhythm guitar in the band, which is Steve Przybylski on keys; David Artz on pedal steel; Richard Follett, Doug Arthur and Rik Burnett sharing the bass; and Doyle Lynn Schaeffer on drums.

Tonight, we add Sara’s vocal to the mix for the first time. Sara has played Patsy before so I can’t wait to hear how it sounds when we put it all together.

Rehearsals Set to Begin for Always: Patsy Cline

I’m looking forward to returning to Wayside Theatre in Middletown, VA for Always Patsy Cline, a musical review and love letter to one of country music’s most enduring performers. Rehearsals are set to begin on June 24th.

The show takes us through Patsy’s life and tragic death through the eyes of one of her best friends, Louise. Through Louise we learn about the funny, exciting and sometimes lonely life of Patsy.

I will be playing fiddle in the band for this show. The music is outstanding. I’ve played one performance of this show as a fill-in at Totem Pole Playhouse, and I’m looking forward to digging in for an entire run.

For those of you in the area, please note that we are back at our home in Middletown. We enjoyed our time in Front Royal, but boy are we excited to get back home.

Always Patsy Cline runs from July 12 – August 30, 2008. Tickets are on sale now at the Wayside Box Office (540) 869-1776.

Johnny and the Vault Cats to Perform at Star Theatre

Johnny and the Vault Cats will be returning to the Star Theatre in beautiful Stuart. VA for a special one-night concert, Elvis: The 50’s Masters, featuring the early days of Elvis’ career.

The Mini wins Audience Choice at Los Angeles Area Film Fest

Larry’s first feature film, The Mini, has won an Audience Choice Award at the Temecula Valley Film Festival just outside of Los Angeles. This is The Mini’s 7th Festival and its 3rd award!

In The Mini, Larry plays Fran Molon a futon salesman who aspires to be a mattress salesman. The only way he can get this promotion is to beat his co-worker, and former high school bully, in a Mini-Marathon. His race to mattress greatness is an underdog story that the whole family can enjoy.

Shadow of the Raven: The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe

Wayside Theatre’s 46th season continues with this World Premiere from resident composer Steve Przybylski.

It is Halloween, and a meeting of the two-person Edgar Allan Poe Society of Bent Knob, VA is about to get underway. But the addition of a mysterious guest speaker stirs up the normal proceedings and suddenly Poe’s stories start to possess the room. We soon discover that not everything is as it appears.

Combining music, drama, puppetry (!) and Poe’s stories, this show is the perfect addition to your Halloween plans.
